Flounderers of Alameda (open water swim group)

This project was for a large group of swimmers who wanted a design to print and showcase on their swim caps and future merchandise.

Members of the group wanted graphic assets that communicated the spirit of the group’s namesake, which has a double-meaning. A flounder is not only a fish, but in another context, a verb meaning to struggle, which reflects the overall ethos of the group. They don’t take performing well in the water seriously, and simply want to communicate inclusiveness and the playful nature of the swimmers. Members wanted imagery that was ‘goofy’ and didn’t take itself too seriously.
